Carolina Marín

Carolina María Marín Martín. He was born 15 of June, 1993, in Huelva. He started with badminton at age eight thanks to a friend, Laura, as well as school and flamenco. At age 12, he left flamenco classes and focused on the racket. He signed for the Recreativo La Orden and became a national champion for the first time at 13 years old. With 14, he moved to the Blume Residence in Madrid, where he met one of the key people in his career: his coach since then, Fernando Rivas. At 25 years old, she only has gold medals in individual absolute category: two as world champion, three as European champion after her success in Kolding and one as Olympic champion. In addition, it has been number one in the ranks and accounts with two majors: the All England and Malaysia. In this category he lacks Indonesia, Denmark and China. She has been Olympic champion in Rio de Janeiro 2016, three times world champion, in the years 2014, 2015 and 2018 and four times champion of Europe, in 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018 .. In addition, she has achieved two Super Series Premier, El All England and the Malaysian Open, both in 2015. Winner of the National Sports Prize for the best Spanish athlete of the year 2014 and with the Bronze Medal of the Royal Order of Sports Merit (2014) and the Gold Medal of the Royal Order of Sports Merit (2016) .18 In December of 2016 the Sports Palace of Huelva was renamed as "Palacio de Deportes Carolina Marín" in his honor. In February 2018 he was awarded the Andalusia Medal. She is the pioneer of badminton in Spain, the first time we reached the highest odds of her sport, but I have always said that value was much much more: The racket that Carolina uses is made to measure, with a weight less than 100 grams, carbon fiber and a price around 300 euros. The blows to the steering wheels shoot over 300 km / h: the maximum speed in the discipline of the racket and the fastest sports.

Theorical exercises first evaluation

-What is strength as basic physical ability? How many types of strenght are there? Explain them and give an example of each of them.

Strength is the ability to overcome, endure or face a muscular effort. Strength is a basic physical quality, along with flexibility, endurance and speed.Although it seems only linked to Locomotor apparatus (muscles), it also has a relation with the Nervous System, Cardio-vascular and respiratory system. To practice this force you will doing 30 seconds and rest 90 seconds.
Types:
  •  Maximum force: It is the maximum weight that we can mobilize. It is the ability of the muscle to develop the maximum possible tension. Large loads are mobilized regardless of acceleration. The speed of movement is minimal and the repetitions that are made are few. Example: Halterofília
 Resultado de imagen de halterofilia
  • Explosive force: It is the maximum weight that we can mobilize. It is the ability of the muscles to have a maximum possible acceleration load. The speed of movement tends to be maximum. It determines the performance in activities that require an explosive speed in their movements: volleyball when jumping and finishing, handball when throwing to goal, athletics when sprinting, soccer when hitting a ball... Example: A long jump

  • Strength of resistance: is the ability to maintain strength for a prolonged period of time. It is the muscular capacity to withstand fatigue caused by a prolonged effort in which many repeated muscle contractions are performed. Neither the load nor the acceleration are the maximum, neither the speed of the execution nor the great number of repetitions. It is the kind of strength necessary for activities that require a long and continuous effort: long races, rowing, swimming, cross-country skiing...Example: Alberto Contador uploading a port.
Resultado de imagen de alberto contador subiendo un puerto
-What is flexibility as basic physical capacity? What factors does flexibility depend on?

Flexibility: the ability of the joints to perform movements as widely as possible.Flexibility does not generate movement, but makes it possible. There are 2 types of flexibility: active (lonely) or pasive (with a partner).

The structural amplitude can be altered by several factors

    -Intrinsic factors:
  • Type of articulation: each type has a different internal endurance, varies from one joint to another.
  • The bone structure: the bony stops of different bones that are part of ab articulation limits the movement of the same.
  • The elasticity of muscle tissue: the endurance to elongation of the connective tissue of the muscles that are part of a joint. If the muscle is fatigued or the muscle tissue has scars from previous injury its elasticity decrease.
  • The elasticity of the ligaments and tendons: they do not stretch much because they have a low elastic tissue and, consequently, limit the flexibility of a joint.
  • Muscle mass: if a muscle is highly developed it can interfere with the ability of a joint to achieve maximum range of motion.
  • Fatty tissue: an excess of fatty tissue can limit.
  • The muscle relaxation and contraction capacity: allows the muscle to reach its maximum range of motion.
  • The temperature of the joint.
    -Extrinsic factors:
  • Inheritance
  • Sex: woman are more flexible that men.
  • Age:during childhood a child can be very flexible, but that capacity decreases progressively until old age.
  • Sedentary lifestyle: lack of physical activity decreases mobility of the joints.
  • Time of day: most individuals are more flexible in the afternoon than in the morning
  • The ambient temperature : a warm temperature facilitates the amplitude of the movements
  • Hydration: some authors suggest that drinking plenty of water helps increase the body ´s flexibility
 Resultado de imagen de flexibilidad
-What is endurance as basic physical ability? How many types of endurance are there? Explain them and give an example of each of them.

Endurance: The ability to resist fatigue, maintain an effort effectively for as long possible. Repeat an activity many times. To perform any type of physical exercise the muscles need oxygen that reaches them through the blood, the respiratory system and the training level

Types of endurance
  • Aerobic endurance: When the oxygen that reaches us it is sufficient for the exercise we are doing. It allows us to maintain uninterrupted and prolonged efforts of medium or low intensity. The amount of oxygen the muscles need to perform an activity is sufficient. When the activity ends and it is at rest, the heart rate, which was high, drops to normal levels in a short space of time. Example: Efforts of low intensity and long duration, such as fast walking.
Resultado de imagen de resistencia aerobica
  • Anaerobic endurance:When the oxygen that reaches us is insufficient, it allows us to maintain a high intensity effort for as long as possible. The activity performed is very intense and needs more oxygen than the respiratory and cardiovascular system is able to provide. In this situation there is an oxygen that will have to be paid once the exercise is finished. The cardiac pulse takes time to normalize. In this category there are efforts of great intensity and short duration. Example a 100 meter race.
Resultado de imagen de resistencia anaerobica
-How can I improve my endurance? Explain two exercise to improve aerobic endurance.

-First is to improve the cardio-circulatory system by increasing the size of the heart and reducing the number of heartbeats and improve the functioning of the venous and arterial network.
-The second objective is to increase the lung capacity and the exchange of carbon dioxide and oxygen, slow fibers of the  muscular system.
-And finally, activate the slow fibers of the muscular system and stimulate the other fibers at the same time.
-You need to do the exercise 1 minute and rest 1 minute.
-To know if you are in aerobic endurance , you calculate the high range keystronkes (220 minus your age) and you need stay between the 60% and 80% of you high range keystones.
The activity will vary depending on our physical form of departure.
Examples :
  • Walking:Going for a walk at a medium and high pace is a good way to improve our physical endurance. Walking is an activity indicated for those people who are not used to exercising.
  • Swimming helps us to improve our resistance and we will not load our whole body on the back and legs, avoiding that they suffer joints like the knees or the ankles.

And it hits people cry.
How many fish are die in the sea?
Pretending say something to,
How many times can you get to the top?
Before falling so many times.

How many seas they have to disappear?
Before they exist in the sky,
How many hours they have to spend?
After losing his life.
How many dreams do I have to have?
To be able to fly high.

E. Project II

- How would you describe the ``program music´´? (2 or 3 lines are enough).

Programmatic music is one that is conceived to express ideas or images beyond music, for example, a trip, a landscape or a battle. Its differs from absolute or pure music or one that explores aesthetics from the sonorous and musical. The rule is the convergence of the arts and motivation outside of music. Programmatic music is always instrumental. This acquires popularity in 19th century with Romanticism.

- Choose one of the next examples (worked alredy a bit in Music classes) and do some research about the composer (4 or 5 lines are enough).

Antonio Lucio Vivaldi was a violinist and a composer, businessman and Catholic priest. He was born in Venice (Italy) on the 4th of March 1678 and he died on the 28th of July 1741.He was called the red priest. He composed more than 770 works , approximately 400 concerts (in which he had reflected his mastery) and 46 operas. He is known for being the author of violin concert series and The Four Seasons.

-This is the musical piece we are playing in the class. Do you believe the composer transmits the little meaning in a good manner? Why?

Because it has a calm and smooth rhythm. As it progresses , the melody increases the volume and it's faster, simulating the dawn and the beginning of the day.

-Which one do you prefer ? Why? (2 or 3 lines are enough).

I like the first song because it is slow and I like the rhythm, I don't like the second song because  two voices sing, one higher than the other voice and I don't like the third song because the last stanza is very fast unlike the other stanzas of the song.

-Who was Bob Dylan? (2 or 3 lines are enough).

Bob Dylan is an American singer , musician and composer. He was born in Minnesota (E.E.U.U), on 24th of May 1941. His real name is Robert Allez Zimmerman. He has six children. He is an important figure in popular music of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century. Much of his work was in the 1960s. The most important songs are ``Blowin ´ in the wind´´and ``A hard Rain´s a-Gonna Fall´´.

-In Music classes I have told you about the sixties and the music of that period, including some videos. If you paid attention, you will be capable of writing down a summary. (4 or 5 lines are enough)

In the sixties in America they wore rather strange clothes.Women and Afro-Americans began to fight for their rights. There was a counter-cultural, pacifist movement that was the hippies, the V was invented which means victory or peace.  Hippies had a reputation for taking drugs (marijuana, LSD...) and they used to wear colourful, flowery clothes, paint using very colorful colors .There was a war ( the Korean war) between Russia and the United States. The USA supported South Korea and Russia supported North Korea. Some famous groups were: the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Mamas & the Papas, Jimmy Hendrix.

Equestrian Sport

Equestrian Sport

Equetrian is more than a sport, it helps us tone muscles, maintain correct posture and is a good cardiovascular exercise. In addition, it is ideal to clear the mind with great psychological benefits. You could say that horse riding is the most complete sport that exists next to swimming. It helps us tone muscles like the abdominals, buttocks, legs or back. In addition, the rider improves his balance, posture and mobility. When a person practices riding, he maintains a good body posture and this avoids possible injuries in the future.

It is one of the most traditional Olympic sports, with participation in almost all editions
of the Olympic Games. At the moment three equestrian disciplines are part of the Olympic Games:
training, equestrian jump and complete competition. In the three they participate individually and by teams.
It is the only sport in which men and women compete together.

The Spanish medalists are four: one gold, two silvers and one bronze.
·       José Navarro, José Álvarez and Julio García with gold in jumps by teams in Amsterdam 1928.
·       Jaime García, José Navarro and Marcelino Gavilán with silver in jumps by teams London 1948.
·       Beatriz Ferrer-Salat with bronze in taming Athens 2004.
·       Beatriz Ferrer-Salat, Rafael Soto and Juan Antonio Jiménez
with silver in dressage by teams Athens 2004.

The Spanish participants in the Olympic Games at Rio 2016 were:

Egg Tempera

Egg tempera is known for its linear qualities and capacity to produce jewel-like paintings.
After, its peak during the Renaissance, egg tempera fell out of favor with the rise of the more versatile oil paints. However, a few modern painters have embraced the medium, adopting the labor-intensive practice of creating both the paints and the panels.
Egg tempera is a classic painting technique, tracing back to antiquity. Egg tempera is composed of ground pigment, water, and egg yolk. With the egg yolk the dimensionality is achieved.

                                                   What is Egg Tempera?
Egg tempera is composed of egg yolk, powdered pigment, and distilled water. The egg yolk serves as the binder that holds the pigment together. The addition of water turns the paint into a usable paste-like form.
Although egg tempera can be purchased commercially, most egg tempera artists prefer the purity of creating their own paints. It is a relatively easy process. However, homemade egg tempera can only be used for a single painting session.

Steps to create your own egg tempera paints:
A.    Roll the separated egg yolk on a paper towel.
B.    Break the yolk sac with a pin.
C.   Mix the contents of the yolk sac with ½ -1 tsp. of water and stir.
D.   Add water to the dry pigment to create a creamy paste. Add a drop of denatured alcohol to disperse the pigment
E.    The pigment is now a paste
F.     Add an equal amount of egg yolk to the pigment paste.

It is important to use only the egg yolk, minus the sac and egg white. Albumen, the protein found in egg white, prevents the paint from adhering well to the panel surface.
The goal when mixing egg tempera is to add just the right amount of egg yolk. When the right amount is used, the paint will dry to a slightly glossy finish. Too much egg yolk will make the paint appear greasy, and too little will make the paint appear chalky.

                                               Egg Tempera Supplies:

·      Dry pigments

·      Drafting tape

·      Measuring spoons

·      Soft-hair brushes

·      Wáter

·      Mixing cups

·      Gesseoed panels

·      egg

·      palette knife

·      sponge

·      fine sandpaper

·      India ink

·      a gesso mixture

·      a pencil

·      a couple of clean jars for water

·      a roll of paper towels

                                               Preparing the Support
Before painting, a wooden support is prepared. The support must be absorbent so that the egg tempera can properly adhere to the surface.
The artist first creates a rabbit skin glue. Rabbit skin or hide gelatin is mixed with water, allowed to sit overnight, then slowly heated. The heated glue is then applied thinly to the front, back and sides of the panel and allowed to dry for 24 hours.

The next step is to apply a heated gesso mixture. To make the gesso mixture, precipitated chalk, whiting, and titanium white are mixed together with the rabbit skin glue water, which serves as an aqueous binder.
An artist can take a shortcut by using a product such as Fredrix Dry Gesso Mix,” in which the ingredients are already pre-mixed, and the artist only needs to add water.

The mixture is gently heated until the gesso has a cream-like texture. Four to six coats are applied and then the panel is allowed to dry for another 24 hours. Once dry, the panel can be sanded.

                                              Transferring the Image
Many artists draw directly on their panels, while others transfer their images onto panels using graphite paper or tracing paper. The first step is to draw a light sketch.

                                                     Adding Values
Five different values from light to dark are created by adding one drop of India ink into a mixing cup, adding two drops in another cup, and so forth, each time adding more drops into a new receptacle until five drops are added. The darkest ink mixtures are reserved for the darkest values in the underlying pencil drawing

                                              Applying the Paint
The first applications of paint on the inked surface are applied thinly and loosely. Egg tempera dries very quickly, so the painting must be worked section by section. To create the underpainting, the darker areas are first blocked in. The lighter the color, the more opaque it will appear.
Blending with egg tempera is not achieved in the same manner as oil or acrylic painting. The paint values must be “blended” by overlays of linear strokes. To create a sense of depth, warm colors can be glazed over cool colors and cool colors can be glazed over warm colors.
Steps for painting petals:

A.    Draw with a 8H pencil on gesso.

B.    Ink over the drawing in corresponding values.

C.   Apply thin glazes of ultramarine blue and vermillion, plus black in dark areas.

D.   Applying different gradations of cadmium yellow, yellow ochre, and white.

E.    Add darker lines of violet and vermillion to form curve of the petal, and white to highlight the base and sides of the petal.

Painting with Egg Tempera
With egg tempera painting, small strokes of thinned color are applied almost in the manner that one handles a colored pencil. When thinning the tempered paint with more wáter. It is important to wipe the excess pigment on the brush. Egg tempera is never applied heavily, as that would cause the paint to crack and flake off.

Glazing & Opacity
Glazing is one of the techniques used when painting with egg tempera. To create a glaze, thin, broad strokes of color are placed on top of another color. The resulting effect is similar to that of watercolors and creates a jewel-like appearance.
Through various techniques, egg tempera can achieve opacity, translucency, and opalescence. To create translucency, a dark glaze is applied over a lighter color or value. Opalescence is produced by placing a lighter color over a darker one.

Masking
In this painting, a tracing paper mask was used to protect the foreground flower arrangement in the vase, as well as the tablecloth. The darker colors in the background were laid in thinly and broadly with a hake brush. Later, smaller strokes of white with yellow ochre were applied to bring up the lighter color and value.

 Lights and Darks
Egg tempera dries quickly, making it difficult to blend edges. The different values of color must be mixed and applied near or on top of one another to create transitions in hue or value. The edges of different values can be “blended” by glazing or using linear strokes of color over an edge. Fine details can be added with a liner brush or brush sizes (0 -1). The fine lines can help delineate an object and also create areas of light values.

Finishing an Egg Tempera Painting
Egg tempera paintings take approximately six months to one year to dry completely. Egg tempera paintings are usually not varnished. Varnish would drastically alter the appearance of the tempera painting. Some tempera painters frame their paintings by placing them under glass.
